This section of our blog will be full of instruction videos which will be helping you with JetSurf service and small JetSurf repairs. We don’t want you to get in a situation when you finally get on a beach, ready for a beautiful day of JetSurfing but your JetSurf just won’t start. We will try to show you what to do in this kind of situation without being forced to leave the beach to take your JetSurf back to service.
Tools for service
Every JetSurf has basic JetSurf toolkit included in the box. So you will have all the tools you need for basic JetSurf service right the there. The basic JetSurf service:
- putting on and taking off JetSurf fins – blue screwdriver for side fins and red screwdriver for the main fin
- changing spark plug – the only spanner in the kit
- oil engine – oil kit with little tube, syringe and oil container
- you can also find two spare spark plugs, spare time sensor and second ignition key in JetSurf toolkit
To have everything ready for basic JetSurf service we also recommend to buy some protection from moisture and rust. We are using WD-40 or lately also Jet Renu Shield. It was sent to us by the company Jet Renu to test it two weeks ago so we can’t recommend it yet but it has one big plus already. It’s supposed to be a green product. That is what we really like about it.
Tools for repairs
You will need to buy some extra tools for small JetSurf repairs. As an absolute basic you will need a set of L-wrench balldrivers, spanners size of 10mm(3/8) and 12mm(1/2) and screwdriver with a small handle. The small handle is important in small areas inside of JetSurf.
With this set of tools, you are set for most of the repairs you can do by yourself. As a next tool you should definitely have in your tool kit I would recommend cable ties and also cutter to cut these ties.
It is very important to also have a threadlocker. We are using Loctite. Always put a little bit of Loctite on every screw before you put it in and it will hold in place much stronger. The JetSurf engine is creating strong vibrations while you are riding and because of these vibrations you can loose a screw and it can do even bigger damage inside of your engine. Loctite will prevent that.
Sure thing is to have an old towel or rag ready for cleaning the grease off your tools or JetSurf while repairing it.
What would you add to our list of tools which everybody should have ready for basic JetSurf service and repairs? Write them down to our comments underneath this post. Thank you.
