Today, we will teach you how to change timing sensor in JetSurf. We’ve made an instruction video for you so you can see everything with your own eyes. We will also add this video to our JetSurf service section so you will be able to find it anytime you need it.
All JetSurf models made before the year 2016 have spare timing sensor in JetSurf toolkit. JetSurf toolkit is included in every one of new JetSurfs. When you open the JetSurf toolkit you can find the timing sensor in the right upper packet between two spare spark plugs.
What you will need for changing JetSurf timing sensor
Changing timing sensor in JetSurf is really easy and it will not take you more than 10 minutes to do it. You will need only a set of L-wrench balldrivers which we have already shown you in one of ours previous posts and of course new timing sensor.
When is necessary to change JetSurf timing sensor
We own two JetSurfs and we only had to change the timing sensor ones so far. We will try to explain you the exact situation which happened to us and forced us to change the timing sensor so you will be able to recognize if you have the same problem.
I was riding JetSurf on the water and all of sudden the engine shut off. So I felt down in the water, pull off the engine shut-off key and slide it back in. The engine started like nothing happened before so I kept riding. After a while, same thing happened again. The engine shut off even though I was riding full throttle so it was pretty obvious that something is wrong with my JetSurf and I have to take it to JetSurf service.
In JetSurf service, they recognized right the way what is wrong and changed my timing sensor in couple minutes.
Now I am able to do it by myself and you will too.
